about

Sometimes we have to face the fact that we are often the one who offends someone. We might think they offended us. That might be the case as well. However we are called to forgive as Christ forgave us. Unconditionally. This song was written for an old friend that I offended. Sometimes you have to make the first step to reconciliation. That means asking forgiveness regardless of getting it. God will give a release of peace when you seek to do so…and just maybe restore a good friendship back again.

lyrics

Forgive Me, Forgive You

I said things and you did too
Now I don't talk to you
its hard to think we once were such good friend

Our eyes me we turn our heads
its as if we think the other dead
This kind of thing has got to end old friend

Forgive me forgive you
thats what we've got to do
We've got to lay down our pride and try
We may be the one offended
We may be the one to blame
If one hurts, then we all hurt
Man, that's such a shame

On the street if we might collide
I'd cross to the other side
When did this problem all begin...No win

Can't we learn to love each other
Like a sister or a brother
This sibling rivalries a sin, yes sin

Forgive me forgive you
thats what we've got to do
We've got to lay down our pride and try
We may be the one offended
We may be the one to blame
If one hurts, then we all hurt
Man, that's such a shame

Seems like years since we last talked
Now its affecting my daily walk
How can I serve behind this walk I built

What I call a testimony
Some might consider phony
If this delays me of my call, His will

Forgive me forgive you
thats what we've got to do
We've got to lay down our pride and try

We may be the one offended
We may be the one to blame
If one hurts, then we all hurt
Can't go forward with this in the way
Its up to me to start
Oh God please change this heart
And humbly bring me to my knees, please
Have me lay my ego down
So You alone wear the crown
Jesus be the only one we see...mm hmmm

Forgive me forgive you
thats what we've got to do
We've got to lay down our pride and try
We may be the one offended
We may be the one to blame
Let's heal the hurt in Jesus name...mm hmmm

Forgive me forgive you
thats what we've got to do
